Product Description Think of it as water filtration for dummies. You don't even need to keep an eye on the calendar, the electronic sensor lets you know with a flashing arrow when it's time to change filters. Not to mention this system sure beats the heck out of paying for and lugging home gallon after gallon of water.
Amazon.com Review Brita's advanced water filtering systems help remove chlorine, sediment, zinc, and other harmful substances such as cadmium, copper, benzene, lead, and mercury, for clean, great-tasting water. With a tank that holds up to 1.13 gallons of water and fits neatly on countertops and refrigerator shelves, the Ultramax Smart Dispenser is the perfect size for a small office or family. It comes with an innovative electronic gauge that helps monitor use and alert busy users when its time to replace the filter. An included, non-replaceable battery with an expected life of 5 years powers the gauge. Brita filters should be replaced every 40 gallons. The Ultramax should be hand washed in lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Brita offers a limited 90 day warranty on pitchers for defects outside of normal wear and tear. --Jessica Reuling

there is NO digital indicator August 31, 2010 Hes 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just received mine, and guess what, instead of the "digital indicator" there is a stupid tag to put on and mark your calender. it is intentionally misleading info they are posting. I thought it was my mistake, but double checked and in the description and the picture you see that there is a digital indicator. I WANT MY MONEY BACK.
Accurate review my normal person August 23, 2010 Dave RCI 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This item is as advertised. I enjoy it becasue it uses the same filters of my other Brita Products. IT holds a VERY LARGE amount of water. The Price is perfect!
I have seen other reviews that compare this to other items. Typically thoser are more expensive items. I would expect more if I spend more.
I got this item becasue I have smaller brita pitchers and they work great.
I will not change to PUR because it costs more.
I use this item to removethe taste my tap water has.
I don't research "health advantages" to filtered water.
If you are someone who buys bottleed water because your tap water tastes funny try this product. It will save you money and the water tastes good. By good I mean it tastes similiar to Evian, not as good as fiji.
If you are looking for health reasons becasue you believe your tap water is bad Please don't consider my review and keep in mind every company will tell you the wonders of there magical water filter and why it is better.
It Leaks August 20, 2010 CV 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It was a very slow leak and I wasn't even able to determine where it was coming from. But things still got pretty wet underneath. Sent back for refund. I'll stick to the Brita pitchers I guess.

The Ultramax Dispenser does exactly what I need it to do. I highly recommend it.

This dispenser has a design flaw which causes it to leak at the base of the water spigot. I have tried 2 of these dispensers only to find that they both leaked at the same spot. Needs a better seal.
