Not Made In USA August 14, 2010 Jeremy Crumpe (Midwest) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have used the D-250 filters for almost ten years and have been very satisified up until now. After starting to replace the filters I noticed that the end caps for the carbon filters were both detached. I looked at the old filter to see if the caps were loose and they were both fastened securely. The outside of the package stated "Made in USA", but upon further investigation the filters were stamped "China" on the side of the filter. I examined the old filters and they were stamped USA. So apparently the Culligan filters are now being manufactured in China instead of the U.S. With all of the issues with heavy metals in children's toy's from China, I really don't trust these filters. I think I would trust drinking my tap water more than trusting what the filters might add to my drinking water. I really don't like the fact that the outside label of the Culligan filters state "Made in USA", but then I find out they're really made in CHina. If they hadn't been broken, I probably wouldn't have noticed. Caveat Emptor.
REplacement cartridge D-250A for Culligan August 8, 2010 Booklady (Los Angeles) Exactly what you would directly order from Culligan or purchase in a store, but the cost is far far less.
Good filter but quality seems to have gone down April 23, 2010 Arrow (Indiana) I live in a place where there is hard water. This is my 4th or 5th culligan filter.
Lately, the quality of the product seems to have gone down. The filter used to be so good that for the first few months the water was absolutely tasteless. Now, after the first few days, I can taste thehard water. Pardon the typo as thisis being written from my phone.
Exactly what I ordered. February 12, 2010 Cherylann (Edina, MN United States) I was very happy with my purchase. It's very hard to find these filters in stores so I was especially happy to see I could order them from Amazon.
Don't buy February 6, 2010 tactfulness 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The company charges more for these Culligan D-250A filters
but ships the cheeper non Culligan brand filters.
So u may as well just buy the cheeper non Culligan brand filter.
In fact after this experience I am not sure I would trust anything on Amazon again.
especially since both filters are listed by the same company on Amazon ... so its a bait and switch.
